Master Class on Hearing Rehabilitation and Outcome Assessment in Complex Patient Groups Held in Moscow
On the last weekend of March, Kriptomed held a master class for audiologists, otorhinolaryngologists, and hearing care professionals on "Hearing Rehabilitation and Outcome Assessment in Complex Patient Groups." The event took place in Moscow on March 29-30, 2025.
The speaker was Gaziz Sh. Tufatulin, MD, PhD, Chief Physician of the St. Petersburg Children's City Audiology Center, Associate Professor at the I.I. Mechnikov North-Western State Medical University, and Advisor to the Director of the St. Petersburg Research Institute of ENT.
Over the two-day course, specialists explored the nuances of hearing aid fitting for children of various age groups and adults with complex cases. This included young children, patients with auditory neuropathies, minimal hearing loss, and other conditions, with a focus on evidence-based approaches to develop specific clinical algorithms and protocols.
"Every clinic engaged in hearing rehabilitation must be equipped to help such patients—both children and adults. We hope our master class provided participants with the essential knowledge they can apply in their practice," the lecturer emphasized.
The curriculum also covered tactics for diagnostic hearing assessments and methods for evaluating the efficacy of hearing rehabilitation. The event featured extensive practical exercises, discussions, and Q&A sessions, fostering a valuable exchange of experience and real-world case studies.
Participants praised the lectures' structured content, the speaker's excellent presentation, and the vast amount of relevant information provided. The interactive clinical case analyses, where attendees had to choose appropriate management tactics based on specific scenarios, were particularly impactful.
Furthermore, the master class featured a presentation of Kriptomed’s new development—the portable KBV Porto audiometer. Attendees had a unique opportunity to be among the first trained to use this device.
The March master class was attended by 26 specialists from Moscow and other Russian regions. Upon completion, all participants received a certificate of attendance.
