The primary function of the device is to provide visual stimuli that help maintain the attention and concentration of young patients during hearing tests. The use of the "Aurora" VRA system makes the testing process more effective and comfortable for both the child and the specialist.
The device is a lightbox with a toy located behind a dark plexiglass panel.
Description
When a button on the remote control is pressed, the toy lights up and begins to rotate. In this way, through the illumination and movement of the toy, the device captures the child's attention and provides visual reinforcement for their responses during hearing assessment.
Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) is a behavioral audiometry technique that evaluates the hearing of children aged six months to three years by using their motor response to sound – a head turn.
The principle of the method: sounds of varying intensity are presented from one of two speakers while the child sits on a parent's lap. If the child hears the sound, they turn towards the corresponding side and are rewarded with a visual stimulus—an animated toy and flashing lights.
Visual Reinforcement Audiometry complements objective diagnostic methods.
